My Background
Shakita's Personal Profile
The inception of the Abiko Prosperity Initiative stemmed from my firsthand encounter with economic fluctuations and the insight that, at times, individual efforts may not suffice without the support of others. Recognizing the uniqueness of my circumstances and experiences, I acknowledged that numerous individuals could find value in accessing similar resources when confronted with seemingly insurmountable obstacles.
During my journey, I came to appreciate the significance of autonomy and the necessity of having my personal space to cope with my disabilities, including allergies to animals, dust, smoke, and certain foods. While numerous neighborhoods and stores cater to disabilities by allowing service animals, my requirements were contrary—I required an environment free from animals to effectively manage my condition. My goal is to bridge the service gap for individuals with similar needs.
My personal journey prompted me to reflect on ways to assist individuals who are systematically ignored and perpetually instable due to inadequate resources and support. I envision creating communities tailored to address specific areas of need, such as unemployment, an aging population, survivors of domestic violence or sexual assault, individuals with suicidal ideations, aspiring entrepreneurs or those pursuing their passions, and other marginalized groups who are frequently neglected.

Education
Georgia Institute of Technology
I pursued a degree in electrical engineering with a minor in industrial psychology at Georgia Tech, supported by a full NASA scholarship. I also specialized in biomedical engineering. My initial goal was to become a neurosurgeon, so I completed my pre-medical school requirements and conducted research on electrical models of biological motor neurons. During my time at Georgia Tech, I served as President of Partners in Interactive Education and was a member of the Eta Kappa Nu Honor Society.
Pepperdine University
I earned my MBA with a specialization in Digital Innovation and Information Technology from Pepperdine's Graziadio Business School in Malibu, CA. My passions during my time at Pepperdine included artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and analytics. I attended on a partial merit scholarship and graduated with honors, becoming a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society.
